Looking at the way the Congress has operated for the last five (5) years, I can see why so many people would run for office. Real life seems to be imitating fiction; today's Congress seems to be every bit as crooked and dysfunctional as that Congress depicted in Eddie Murphy's movie, "Distinguished Gentleman", where he (as a con artist) found he could get paid better in Congress than he ever could at his unlawful con game! Beyond their ordinary salaries, these yahoos were getting paid hand over fist via 'campaign donations' *wink wink*, 'congressional committees', lobbyists, etc., etc....and it was all "legal". Now, come back to real life (?), and we have a Congress that is getting PAID, DOING NOTHING PRODUCTIVE AND TAKING OFF MORE DAYS THAN THEY WORK!! Who wouldn't want a job like that? If any of US tried to work that way, I can guarantee you we wouldn't be working long...check this out...
House Of Representatives To Work Only Nine Days In September
July 18, 2013, by @LOLGOP, for The National Memo
If Speaker John Boehner wants to make the 113th Congress the least effective ever, he has a tough record to beat — his own.
The Boehner-led House in the 112th Congress passed the fewest number of bills since that number started being tracked in 1947.
But the congressman from Ohio isn’t going to let an impressive record like that stop him from making American history again.
“At this point in 2011, when the House was beginning its least productive session ever, the House had passed 23 bills which became laws,” The Daily Kos‘ Jed Lewison points out. “That compares to 15 so far this year.”
This gives House Republicans a clear head start in their pursuit of the “least productive” title. And they’re not going to let anything get in their way.
(According to an Alex Bolden tweet.) " Reid tells reporters that Beohner told him in a meeting yesterday that the House will only work 9 days in September." [end tweet]
Not working is part of their two-prong strategy, along with only voting on pretend things, like fake Obamacare repeals.
“In fact, while the House passed fewer bills than any previous House during the last Congress, it actually cast the fifth-most votes ever,” Lewison points out.
Today, Boehner was asked about his role in leading the least productive House ever. He displayed his typical modesty:
Elise Foley [@elisefoley) tweets: "Boehner on idea this is the most unproductive Congress ever: 'That's just total nonsense...I reject the premise of the question."
But guess what, Speaker
Bonehead, --er, Beohner?? NUMBERS DON'T LIE! As much as you and your obstructionist Rethuglifools and conservidiots would like for us to live under the delusional "bubble" you all live under and deny logical facts, the data tells us exactly what type of job your Congress has done in the last five years, and informs us that it's time for y'all to GO!!!
